Why you need it

This little 3-part backflow protector provides a barrier between your milk and the pump. Because the inner part is made from soft silicone, it's a good idea to replace every few months to make sure there are no tears, and that both your milk (and the pump itself) stays protected.

How to use it

Click the two outer cases together around the soft diaphragm. Sub them in for your old ones on the back of the breastshield/flange. Check out the instructions for more.

How it works

"Backflow protection" is a fancy term meaning that the milk you pump is prevented from travelling down the tubing back into your pump. It's also known as a closed circuit pump - check out our glossary under 'c' for more info.

Food grade silicone or PP (free of BPA, PVC, BPS and Phthalates).

How to clean

Follow the FDA guidelines for cleaning your pump and parts. The TLDR, clean everything that has come into contact with your breasts and milk by rinsing, washing in warm soapy water, air drying on a clean towel and covering parts when not in use.
